The Perfect Buffalo Plaid

Plaid Shirt: Gap | Distressed Jeans: Nasty Gal (similar here & only $35!) | Shoes: Topshop | Watch: similar

I posted an #ootd of this shirt a few weeks ago on my instagram (@abigailee6). I said it then, and I'll say it again... this may be one of my favorite plaid/buffalo shirts eva! Its such a soft material and it's the perfect fit for a plaid shirt! I also love how these colors can be worn year round. I'm already imagining a Fourth of July outfit next summer. How cute would they be with white cutoffs or skinnies?! When it gets really chilly here in the south (which I'm not sure it ever will seeing as how its still in the mid 70s), I plan on pairing it with a navy cardigan.

I'm currently studying for an optics exam tomorrow. Out of the last 6 school days, I've had two midterms, one exam, and two quizzes. Can you tell I'm ready for a break?

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Fall Layering

Vest: J. Crew Factory (similar here) | Plaid Shirt: Topshop | Camel Skirt: J. Crew Factory
Boots: Tory Burch | Tote: Nordstrom

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is layer. Fall weather, especially in the south, can be unpredictable. It can be 50 degrees in the morning, but warm up to the 70s by the afternoon. Layering a vest over a cute plaid shirt or sweater keeps me warm during the chilly mornings, but by the afternoon, I can shed the vest for the warmer temps. I am loving this vest/plaid shirt combo! Plus this camel skirt is perfection! I'm so glad I snagged it on sale.

PS. Do you see the leaves changing color in the background? So gorgeous!

Fall Look + Rain Boots

Vest: J. Crew Factory | Striped Turtleneck: J. Crew Factory | Skirt: J. Crew Factory
Rain Boots: Hunter

It's currently really gloomy outside my apartment, so what do I do instead of study for my midterm tomorrow? Put together a cute fall outfit that involves rain boots, of course. I have been eyeing these red rain boots for probably over a year now. I'm definitely going to be wishing I had some this week because the forecast says rain everyday... ugh. There's nothing worse than walking a mile to class in the rain. This outfit would look great with a pair of brown or black riding boots as well! Also, I just got this skirt last week, and I can already tell I'm going to get some great use of out it. I can't believe I'm saying this but I reeeally want that red vest (I think I have a vest problem). This striped turtleneck is a fall staple and its only $30! You can also layer it under oversized sweaters - another look I am loving for fall.

PS J. Crew Factory is offering $30 off to orders over $100 with the code 30OFF. You can get this entire look on sale (minus the rain boots).

Cape-Poncho: The Perfect Fall Accessory

Aztec Cape: American Eagle | White Tunic: Lush (my absolute favorite tunic)
Jeans: similar | Booties: Splendid (almost sold out - similar here) | Watch: similar    Bracelet: J Crew Factory | Ring: BaubleBar | Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Believe it or not, capes are in. And no, I'm not talking about costume capes for halloween. I'm talking about oversized, poncho-style, basically wrap yourself in a blanket capes. And I couldn't be happier about it. I'm one of those people that hates being cold and I love wrapping up at the house with my big comfy blankets. Now I pretty much have an excuse to be wrapped up in a comfy cape all fall and winter long! I saw this cape pinned on Pinterest and couldn't believe it was from American Eagle. On my next trip to the mall, I walked right into American Eagle (a place I haven't shopped since high school) and fell in love with this cape in person. It came right home with me. The best part about it is the price. It's currently on sale for $30! Can't beat that. Below, I've listed some other cape-style ponchos that I'm loving for this fall.

PS I wanted to point out that yet again I'm wearing my favorite tunic. I still don't know why I don't own it in every color. It's seriously the best and also comes in black, olive, and cranberry... talk about perfect fall colors!

Thank you for reading!

3 Ways to Wear a Fur Vest This Fall

Ok guys, I think I've found my go-to item this fall... this fur vest (insert all the heart eyes). I've seriously been drooling over it since I got in the mail. You might be thinking, how in the world is a fur vest going to be your staple item? There's no way you can pair a fur vest with that many outfits. Well ladies, think again. In this blog post, I'm going to share with you 3 easy ways I'm styling my fur vest this fall. A lot of these looks can be recreated with items you already have in your fall wardrobe!

First things first though, I wanted to share with you my exact fur vest. I love this one because it's two tone and the length is perfect for layering (especially over leggings). You can grab this vest at The Pink Nickel for 30% off with the code ABBY30, making it less than $50. It's considerably more affordable than other faux fur vests I've seen, some of which retail for over $100 at larger department stores. The coupon ends Sunday, Oct 25!

Denim Shirt: old (similar here, here, and here) | Jeans: Hudson | Boots: Tory Burch
Tote: Nordstrom | Watch: similar here | Bracelet: J Crew Factory

The first way I styled this vest is more casual. I did a little denim on denim combo with my new fall riding boots. I love how this look turned out. You could also recreate this with leggings instead of jeans, which is what I wanted to do until I realized I left my black leggings in GA. I should probably go grab some new ones considering I wear leggings 90% of the time when the weather cools off.

Cowl Neck Dress: Old Navy | Booties: Target | Tote: Nordstrom | Watch: similar

The next way I styled this fur vest is over a gorgeous sweater dress. First of all, this dress is the bomb dot comb and under $40. I kinda want it in every color (of which it comes in 4). You could actually recreate this outfit with any solid color dress you already have in your closet. That's what I love about this vest-the fact that it can be worn with any color and it's super transitional.

Plaid Blouse: Topshop | Flare Jeans: similar | Tote: Nordstrom | Watch: similar
Bracelet: J Crew Factory

The last way I styled this faux fur vest is over a plaid blouse. This is probably my favorite look so far and is definitely easy to recreate because I'm sure everyone has a plaid shirt (or 10) hanging in their closet. I paired my plaid blouse and fur vest with wide leg jeans to give off a little bit of 70s style (which is so in right now). You could have just as easily worn this with denim skinnies and riding boots!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I loved putting it together! I'm already imagining other ways I can style this vest this fall. I'm thinking over an all black outfit... maybe a black turtleneck and black jeans. I know I'll definitely pair it with my favorite white tunic and jeans. The options are endless! Don't forget you can get this exact vest for 30% off with the code ABBY30. The coupon ends Sunday, October 25!

Red Blazer

Red Blazer: old (similar here & here) | White Tunic: Lush (my favorite tunic ever!)
Jeans: Hudson | Boots: Frye (the color is cognac!) | Bag: Nordstrom (only $54 & its reversible) | Necklace: similar here (on sale for $18) | Watch: similar
Bracelet: tortoise, gold cuff, gold link | Rings: here & here

I LOVE wearing red. I always feel powerful and a tad more confident when I wear red. It may have something to do with the fact that red compliments my dark complexion, but I feel that blondes look amazing in red too! Another thing I have been buying more of lately is blazers. Being a professional student, you never know when you might have to look nice for an event or for clinic. What I love about blazers though, is how nice they look with jeans as well as with dress pants or a skirt. Here, I paired my red blazer with my favorite white tunic and jeans. I topped off the outfit with riding boots and my reversible leopard bag... because who doesn't love red and leopard together? The last thing I added were touches of gold. I have been loving my gold link bracelet and necklace. They pair well with so many outfits and are both at a great price point.

We just had fall break at school. We got to take off Monday and Tuesday so I decided to come back home to South Ga for the 4-day weekend. I'm headed back to school tomorrow but secretly wishing we still had one more day. These breaks seem to go by faster and faster the older I get.

Fall Colors: Burgundy + Mustard

Tunic: Free People | Jeans: Hudson | Booties: Splendid (similar here)| Hat: Leith | Watch: similar | Bracelet: J. Crew Factory

One of my favorite things about fall (& trust me, I have a lot) are fall colors. Yes, I know that PSL and cooler weather have most people excited about fall, and don't get me wrong, I love the cooler weather... but there's just something about the deeper, richer colors of fall. There's nothing like the way leaves change colors to those deep orange hues for a few short weeks before they fall to the ground. If I had to pick a favorite time of the year, that would be it.

What I love about this tunic is the dark mustard color - a perfect color for fall. What won me over is the flowy style of this top and how comfortable it is! This top comes in two other colors, a burgundy and an ivory, which are also gorgeous. What's even better is that there's little hints of burgundy in the pattern so of course I paired my favorite booties and favorite hat to finish off the look. What are your favorite colors to wear in the fall?

Thanks for reading.
