Casual Winter Rainy Day Look

Santa brought me a pair of red Hunter rain boots that I have been wanting for a few years. They are super comfortable & will add a pop of color to any outfit on a rainy day. I think the red will be a perfect color for year round wear, but I just discovered these bright pink ones on the Hunter website & fell in love. How cute would they be for spring?! PS. I found a size 7 in this exact red color on sale at Gilt! They have UK sizing, so a size 5 on Gilt is a US size 7. They're on sale for $119. I also found a black, raspberry, & navy pair on sale here!

My favorite tunic is still on sale & in stock. This is probably my fifth blog post wearing this tunic. It's definitely a must have. Also, my scarf is 50% off plus an extra 20% off with the code NEWYEAR.

Belted Blanket Scarf

If I had a dollar every time I heard the word blanket scarf during the fall/winter, I could probably pay for all of the ones I own (maybe). I usually just wear them wrapped up and super bulky around my neck for warmth, but I decided to try out a new way to wear them and I absolutely love how it turned out. I threw the scarf on, let the ends of it hang down, and belted it with an old leather belt I had. What do ya'll think of the look?

I'm extremely excited that Christmas is almost here! I can't wait to give out all the presents I've been trying to keep a secret. I think picking out presents for others is definitely my favorite part.

A Winter Date Night

When I saw this skirt on sale at J. Crew Factory, I knew I had to have it. I've been a lover of houndstooth for years now. I have several blouses and 5 houndstooth jackets. I had to add this skirt to my collection. It's perfect for a date night or for church during the winter or fall. This exact skirt is sold out but I found a similar one from LL Bean that I love! These tissue turtlenecks from J. Crew Factory are perfect for layering. I also ordered black and green and I plan on wearing them under my puffer vests with blanket scarves. I also love how my Barbour jacket looks over this outfit. I think it goes perfectly which is why I love that jacket so much. 

This week has been crazy! Who else is running around and grabbing last minute presents? I can't resist these amazing sales.

I really love simple classic pieces that can be worn with a million different things. I have a ton of vests and plaid tops that I mix and match to create different outfits. Plus, to dress this up a little all you would have to do is layer a sweater over the plaid shirt and then you have yet another outfit. Chunky oversized sweaters are the bomb dot com this time of year. Not only are they super warm and comfortable, but they hide the extra few pounds you put on from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Today's blog post is all about gift ideas for moms or for any woman in your life such as an aunt or grandmother. These would also be great gifts for co-workers or friends. Of course, I had to include some comfy winter essentials in this gift guide like these PJ pants that are only $7! I'm considering buying a couple of pair for myself at that price. I also love this cable knit blanket and I'm almost sure than any mother or grandmother would too. My mom is cold natured and and when I was growing up, our favorite blanket was cable knit and I remember it being so soft and warm. This grey blanket also comes in an ivory color. Probably the coolest gift (and my favorite gift) that you can get your mom is this mobile printer that she can use to print pictures right from her iPhone. This is perfect for those people who save a ton of pictures of their kids or grandkids on their phone but don't want to go through the hassle of emailing them to print them out. I also included this really cool and inexpensive Mug Cake cookbook for those moms who love trying new things in the kitchen!

Grey + Black Winter Combo

I don't know what it is... but I have been loving cowl neck sweaters this fall/winter. I'm not sure if its because I love scarves so much and this is like a two-in-one or if I just like the feeling of being bundled up, but either way I'm a big fan. This grey one is perfect because it's long enough to pair with leggings plus it's under $30. It comes in black and green as well in case you aren't feeling the grey. These leggings I am wearing are from J. Crew and they are amazing but I recommend sizing down one size! Also, these are my favorite booties ever! I have them in two colors and literally wear them all the time. 

I can't believe it's already finals week of my first semester as an optometry student. It's crazy how fast these few months have flown by. Before I know it I'll be graduating.
